Itinerary

  • Day 1: Your adventure begins with a short 15-minute shuttle ride to the South Kaibab Trailhead. From there, you’ll embark on a 7.5-mile hike down the South Kaibab Trail, a popular route known for its spectacular views both up and down the Canyon. The trail offers moderate hiking, leading you to the Bright Angel Campground, your destination for the first night. Nestled near the Colorado River and Bright Angel Creek, this charming campsite is shaded by tall cottonwood trees, with piped drinking water and nearby amenities at Phantom Ranch, including a snack bar and ranger-led evening programs.
  • Day 2: This day is all about relaxation and exploration at your own pace. You have the option to enjoy a layover day, soaking up the magic of the Canyon, or embark on an unforgettable day hike. Whether you prefer a refreshing dip in the cool waters of Bright Angel Creek, a quiet moment with a good book, or quality time with your family exploring the area, this day is yours to enjoy. If you’re up for more adventure, join your guide on a customized day hike. Options include an off-trail trek up a side canyon featuring cascades, pools, and oases; a breathtaking hike along the Clear Creek Trail, which parallels the Colorado River a thousand feet above it; or a relaxing stroll along the River Trail.
  • Day 3: After an early breakfast, you’ll set out on a long but rewarding 9.3-mile hike back to the South Rim via the Bright Angel Trail. As you ascend 4,500 feet, you’ll have ample time to reflect on the beauty of the Grand Canyon and the sense of accomplishment that comes with completing such a remarkable journey.
