Desert Resin Candles were created with that exact intention: to capture the spirit of the Grand Canyon and bring it into your home. Each candle is handcrafted in small batches just south of the Canyon rim, using wildcrafted ingredients gathered responsibly from the piñon–juniper forests that surround our homestead.

Wildcrafted Piñon Resin
Piñon resin is the soul of these candles. Collected only from naturally fallen or healing resin—not carved or cut from the trees—it brings a warm, grounding aroma that has been used in the Southwest for generations. When melted into natural beeswax, the resin releases its earthy, honeyed scent that fills a room effortlessly.
Solar-Infused Juniper Berry Oil
Solar-Infused Juniper Berry OilThe secondary note in every Desert Resin Candle comes from your slow-crafted juniper oil. Fresh berries are hand-picked, sun-dried, crushed, and left to solar-infuse in high-quality olive oil. This process can take up to a week in the solar oven, allowing the heat of the Arizona sun to pull out the oils, fragrance, and medicine of the berries.
This infusion adds a subtle grounding undertone to the final candle.
Natural Beeswax
We use pure beeswax sourced from Arizona beekeepers. Beeswax burns clean, lasts longer than paraffin, and naturally purifies the air. When combined with piñon resin and juniper oil, the aroma becomes richer, deeper, and unmistakably of the desert.
No Perfumes. No Additives. No Chemicals.

The Process: From Forest to Flame
Our candle-making process is slow, intentional, and rooted in respect:
Foraging — We gather piñon resin already released by the trees and juniper berries from our land.
Infusing — Berries are dried, crushed, and infused using only solar heat.
Melting & Blending — Resin is slowly melted down and blended with beeswax and infused oil in small batches.
Pouring — Candles are poured by hand and set naturally.
Branding — Each candle is finished with a branded lid or tag burned into the wood, giving every piece its own character.
Everything happens on our off-grid homestead, powered by the same sun that infuses the oils.
A Candle with Purpose: The Refill System
To reduce waste and keep Desert Resin Candles affordable, we offer a refill system:
$35 — First candle
$15 — First refill
$20 — All refills after that
Bring your finished jar back, and we’ll refill it with a fresh batch of resin-infused beeswax. This keeps glass out of landfills, saves you money, and creates an ongoing relationship between you, the candle, and the land it came from.
